BRITISH INTERNATIONAL INVESTMENT The UK development finance institution formerly known as CDC Group appoints Manav Bansal as its head of India. He was most recently CEO of Neev Funds. The move allows regional head Srini Nagarajan shift focus from India to Southeast Asia
EDBI Swee Yeok Chu, CEO and president of the Singapore government investor, steps down with a view to launching her own fund. She is replaced by Paul Ng, who leads direct investments in global technology companies and in Singapore-based small and medium-sized enterprises
FUTURE FUND Alicia Gregory, head of private equity at the Australian sovereign wealth fund, is promoted to deputy CIO with responsibility for private markets. She is one of three newly appointed deputy CIOs, alongside Wendy Norris and Ben Samild, who oversee change and innovation and portfolio construction, respectively. The appointments coincide with the departure of CIO Sue Brake for family reasons. CEO Raphael Arndt assumes the CIO duties until a replacement is found
HARBOURVEST PARTNERS Warwick Mancini assumes responsibility for business development activities and client relationships in Australia as head of the newly opened Sydney office
KOREA INVESTMENT CORPORATION Hoon Lee is appointed CIO, having previously served as head of the Korean sovereign wealth fund’s investment strategy and innovation division
NORTHLEAF CAPITAL PARTNERS The Canada-based asset manager opens a Tokyo office to spearhead fundraising activity in Asia. Jeff Pentland, a founding partner at the firm who previously worked as a lawyer in Japan in the 1990s, relocates to Japan to lead the effort
ONTARIO TEACHERS’ PENSION PLAN (OTPP) Deepak Dara is named senior managing director and head of India, located in the newly opened Mumbai office. He joined the Canadian pension plan from Boston Consulting Group in 2020 as chief of staff to the CIO. Nicole Musicco, who previously served as head of Asia Pacific at OTPP, is named CIO of California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS)
RAFFLES FAMILY OFFICE The Hong Kong-based multi-family office names Zann Kwan as CIO and managing partner of its digital assets unit. She is a co-founder of Bitcoin Exchange, which launched Asia's first public bitcoin machine in 2013
