
ClearVue Partners closes $262m China consumer fund
ClearVue Partners has closed its first fund, ClearVue Partners Fund I, at $262 million. It has exceeded the original target of $200 million.
Investors and advisors in Fund I include Fidelity, Emerald Hill, Harbourvest Partners, Auda, J.P. Morgan Asset Management, Verlinvest, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and other foundations, endowments and leading family offices.
The fund will invest in consumer market in Greater China, specifically in the food and beverage, consumer products, and consumer mobile sectors.
"The consumption story in China is irreversible, its share of GDP will continue to grow as consumers continue to trade up," said Harry Hui, founding managing partner of ClearVue. "Our strategy is to help build local lighthouse brands, and to bring global and local best operational and marketing practices to our companies."
ClearVue was founded in 2012 by Hui and William Chen, former managing director at DT Capital Partners. It focuses on providing growth capital, typically in the range of $5-30 million, to expansion stage companies in the consumer sector.
