GenNext Ventures, Microsoft India launch tech accelerator
GenNext Ventures, the VC arm of Reliance Industries, has tied up with Microsoft Ventures India to launch an accelerator program, with a view to catalyzing the Indian technology start-up ecosystem.
The accelerator, known as GenNext Innovation Hub, will provide start-ups access to office space, mentoring, and technical and design expertise.
Under a three-year partnership, Microsoft Ventures will not only help GenNext identify and shortlist promising start-ups, and power the accelerator program, it will also provide these start-ups access to software and technology advice.
"Technology startups, which are a key source of innovation in India, are at an inflexion point today. While several initiatives are underway to help startups, what is lacking is a national platform that seamlessly brings together all stakeholders and also provides the resources Indian startups need to be successful," said R.A. Mashelkar, chairman of GenNext Ventures, in a statement.
Microsoft Ventures is a global initiative to help entrepreneurs build business. It operates seven accelerators and three offices globally.
Founded in 2010, GenNext Ventures invests in innovative technology companies from India and overseas.
