Chrysalix network targets global cleantech investments
A new cleantech venture investor alliance, the Chrysalix Global Network (CGN), has been formed to target investment opportunities throughout the world.
The alliance, comprising North America's Chrysalix Energy Venture Capital, Europe's Chrysalix Sustainable Energy Technologies and Asia's Grand River Capital Chrysalix, was formed this week.
"With China investing in green technologies at a pace, three times that of the rest of the world, and with so many North American and European cleantech companies requiring effective Asian strategies, it made sense to join forces," Eric Wang, managing partner of Grand River Capital Chrysalix, said in a statement.
Wang added that by covering these three important continents, alliance members were now able to offer entrepreneurs and investors the best possible ecosystem for success.
"Cleantech is a global industry yet early-stage venture capital doesn't travel well," said Wal van Lierop, president and CEO of Chrysalix EVC."You need feet on the ground to find and build great companies, but you also need to provide portfolio companies with global market perspectives to ensure they are ready to compete internationally."
