EMAlternatives announces RMB fund of funds affiliate YiMei
YiMei Capital Management, a China affiliate of Netherlands-headquartered emerging markets-focused managed account private equity investor EMAlternatives, is launching its first RMB-denominated fund of funds.
The new f-o-f will focus on commitments to promising venture capital and growth capital funds in China. The Minhang district of the Shanghai Municipal Government has already mandated an initial capital commitment of RMB500 million ($75 million) to the vehicle.
“This effort is a natural extension of our existing work in China, and will allow us to offer to clients both RMB and international-currency denominated investment opportunities,” Christopher Wright, Chairman of EMAlternatives, said publicly. Judy Qing Ye, who is currently serving as a Director of EMAlternatives, will be appointed to YiMei Capital as a Managing Partner. EMAlternatives established its first office in Asia in 2008.
