Fosun Venture leads Series B for Joyme
Fosun Venture Capital Investment, a venture arm of Fosun Group, has led a RMB130 million ($21 million) Series B round of funding for Joyme.com, a Beijing-based mobile game operator. BlueRun Ventures also participated.
The fresh capital will be used for recruitment, developing contents and building brand name. BlueRun invested less than $10 million in the platform in 2012, AVCJ Research shows.
Joyme was founded by Yang Chen, former head of producer of gaming firm EA China, in 2011. It is a mobile game community that provides services such as game guides, gaming information and mobile apps.
China Renaissance acted as the financial advisor at this transaction.
Fosun Venture Capital operates both renminbi- and US dollar-denominated funds, focusing on early-stage companies across tech, media and telecom, cleantech and services.
It has previously invested in online travel site Shijiebang, animation producer Beijing Dream Castle Culture, and gaming developer Linekong.
