Squire Sanders expands Greater China corporate team
Squire Sanders has hired corporate law specialists Jenny Liu and Xudong Ni as partners in its Beijing and Shanghai offices, while Sin Kiu Ng has joined the law firm in Hong Kong.
Liu, formerly of Sheppard Mullin and DLA Piper, focuses on private equity and venture capital investment in China, working primarily on behalf of foreign funds. She also represents Chinese private enterprises on a broad range of corporate and commercial issues, including financing and international transactions.
Ni, who also joins the firm from Sheppard Mullin, specializes in cross-border M&A, China regulatory issues, inbound and outbound foreign direct investment, and dispute resolution, with particular experience in the aviation and aerospace sector. Prior to joining Sheppard Mullin, he spent four years as a consultant in Washington D.C. and before that was a partner at Beijing law firm Xin Ji Yuan.
Ng, meanwhile, focuses on M&A and venture capital and has completed more than 40 IPOs in Hong Kong.
"Jenny, Xudong and Sin Kiu are highly regarded in their local markets and their experience strengthens our ability to offer comprehensive corporate counsel to companies doing business in the Asia Pacific region," said William Downs, Squire Sanders' global practice group leader for corporate and corporate finance.
Squire Sanders has 124 lawyers in the Asia Pacific region. It opened a Singapore office earlier this month and recently applied to set up operations in Seoul.
