Helion, Accel invest $2.8 million in Indian fashion site Exclusively.In
Accel Partners India and Helion Venture Partners have jointly invested $2.8 million into Indian membership-only fashion, jewelry, home decor and travel web destination Exclusively.In, in the company's first institutional and angel round of funding, according to the company's announcement.
Exclusively.In specifically targets a global audience, citing the success of films like 'Eat Pray Love' in its efforts to take its Indian-inspired range of offerings beyond the domestic and Indian diaspora consumer base to a wider market. According to the company, up to 50% of its members are non-Indian in origin. Launched only five months ago, with offices in New York and New Delhi, Exclusively.in will use the funding to expand its technology platform, and to support further marketing efforts. Helion MD Ashish Gupta and Accel partner Prashanth Prakash will join the company's board with the investment.
“We’re very excited to be investing in a company that has created the right recipe for success,” Gupta said publicly.
