Everstone hires two new managing directors
India and Southeast Asia-focused Everstone Capital has appointed Roshini Bakshi and Rajev Shukla, formerly of Disney and Unilever, respectively, as managing directors on its operations team.
The two will source and manage investment opportunities in Asia, but their main task will be to work with the investment team and portfolio companies on operational improvements. In a release, Everstone CEO Brooks Entwistle said the firm is "confident of deriving significant growth and impact using their insights and experience."
While at Disney, Bakshi managed the company's consumer, licensing and retail business in India and South Asia. Before that, she worked at a variety of international brands, including Polaris Software and Mattel.
Shukla has worked at Unilever for more than 20 years, most recently as the head of the company's global skin care strategy department. Previously, he ran the skin care division in Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand, and also headed the company's Ponds brand.
Everstone is currently raising its third fund, which launched last year with a target of $650 million. The fund back companies that have significant operations on the Indian subcontinent, particularly those that cater to or benefit from domestic consumption and infrastructure development.
