Tamarisc leads Series A round for Australia’s Serraview
Australian software-as-a-service (SaaS) start-up Serraview has raised a Series A round of funding from US-based venture capital firm Tamarisc as it looks to expand into US markets.
The size of the round was not disclosed.
Founded in 2006, Serraview provides a cloud-based workplace management software designed to increase productivity and improve communication between business units over personnel placements, relocations, and reductions in cost.
The business claims that its service is used by 10 of Australia’s 20 largest companies, including the Big Four domestic banks, covering 50 million square feet of office space, serving upwards of 350,000 workpoints. It also claims to have saved $100 million in recurring costs for its customers.
Serraview - which already has a New York base - intends to roll-out a full US expansion over the next two quarters. The company has recruited Boston-based entrepreneur and lawyer Vilas S. Dhar to join its board as poart of the expansion.
“Serraview's value-adding services not only deliver exceptional cost savings to the client but also reduce the large carbon footprint associated with powering and conditioning unused space, which is significant considering the building sector consumes almost half of all energy produced in the US,” said Mark Ferraro, a partner with Tamarisc, in a statement.
