Warburg Pincus promotes three Asia professionals to MD level
Warburg Pincus has named three new managing directors in Asia, including Zhiming Yue and Joe Gagnon in Hong Kong, as well as Nitin Nayar in Mumbai. It is part of a wave of promotions globally, which has seen nine senior professionals elevated to managing director level.
Zhiming Yue, who joined the company in 2010, focuses on fundraising and investor relations in Greater China. Prior to that, Yue served as a managing director and vice chairman of Nomura's China arm, where he had spent 16 years in investment banking and other areas.
Joe Gagnon joined Warburg Pincus Asia in 2005 and focuses on its real estate investment business in China. He previously worked for GE Real Estate in Tokyo as Business Development Manager.
Nitin Nayar has been working with the firm's Indian affiliate since 2004. Most recently involved in investment advisory activities, he has been promoted to managing director in the company's technology, media and telecommunications division. Prior to joining Warburg Pincus, Nayar was the business development manager for Epoch Partners, a boutique US investment bank.
Commenting on the promotions, Charles R. Kaye, co-President of Warburg Pincus, said in a statement: "It is their unique combination of sector and regional knowledge, along with years of valuable investment experience that enables Warburg Pincus to be an experienced partner to entreprenuers and management teams and an exceptional partner to investors."
