Aureos invests $2.2 million in Thai data center provider
Emerging markets-focused Aureos South-East Asia Managers Ltd. has invested $2.2 million in Thai data center provider Unitrio Technology Co. Ltd. from its South East Asia Fund.
This is the 15th investment from the PE firm's fund. The capital will be used by Unitrio to expand its operations, which already include management of full data centre facilities and IT support equipment. Unitrio, which launched in 1980, claims an increase in turnover from $11 million in 2007 to $27 million in 2010, and currently works with a range of institutions such as Thai government departments and state enterprises and clients including Airport of Thailand, Bank of Thailand, the Ministry of Finance, Siam Commercial Bank and Thai Airways.
Late last year, Aureos launched its Aureos Southeast Asia Fund II, a vehicle targeting $250 million for investments into Southeast Asia's small-to-mid-cap businesses, described as the largest fund of its kind.
