
KPMG hires PwC's Ambarish Dasgupta
KPMG India has hired Ambarish Dasgupta, former consulting leader with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) India, to head up its management consulting practice in Mumbai.
Dasgupta spent 15 years as a member of PwC's India leadership team. In total he has around 25 years of experience in business and IT consulting.
KPMG also confirmed that Vikram Hosangady will be taking over as its head of private equity in India, an appointment which became public knowledge earlier this month with the departure of his predecessor Vikram Utamsingh. Shalini Pillay has also been confirmed as head of human resources.
In a statement the firm said that the movements within its core leadership team were in sync with its long term aggressive growth plans. "Given our increased focus on the consulting business, I am confident that Ambarish's able and proven leadership will help steer Management Consulting practice to achieve its true potential," said Richard Rekhy, CEO with KPMG India said.
KPMG India, the Indian arm of KPMG International, was established in 1993. It currently services to around 2,700 international and national clients in India with offices in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Pune and Kochi.
