Oz Future Fund, two others invest $576 million in new UK capital lender
Australian sovereign wealth fund the Future Fund, as well as Lord Rothschild and UK buyout leader Apax Partner’s founder Sir Ronald Cohen have together invested EUR450 million ($576 million) in Haymarket Financial, known as HayFin, a new start-up specialist lender to medium-sized businesses, based in London.
HayFin was established by banking professional Richard Hayden, a former Chairman of GSC Investment Corp., with support from UK investment firm TowerBrook Capital Partners, in December 2009, in the wake of the GFC. After the recent fundraising, HayFin publicly said that it has EUR1 billion ($1.28 billion) of total committed invested capital. Its investment strategy focuses on companies with enterprise values of EUR100-500 million ($128-640 million), providing secured term loans, amortising loans, mezzanine loans, unitranche loans, revolving credit facilities, acquisition facilities and capital expenditure facilities.
