
Spring Capital founder Vincent Chan joins Samena
Vincent Chan, founder of China-focused GP Spring Capital, has been appointed senior managing director and head of Asia at Samena Capital.
AVCJ understands that Chan continues to be involved in some of the remaining Spring portfolio companies. According to the private equity firm's website, Chan's title is now non-executive chairman, with Wenzhong Jia leading the business as CEO.
Chan has 24 years of experience in private equity, and has made over 45 investments in growth companies in China and Asia. Prior to founding Spring eight years ago he was a managing director at Jafco Asia. He has also held senior positions with Suez Asia and HSBC Private Equity Asia.
Samena is an investment group focused on private equity and corporate credit in the Asia, the Middle East and North Africa, with in excess of $745 million in committed capital. Chan will focus on private equity investments in Asia.
