Baird rebrands PE operations as Baird Capital
The private equity operations of Robert W. Baird & Co. have been consolidated under a single brand – Baird Capital.
This means Baird Capital Partners Asia will join Baird Private Equity, Baird Capital Partners, Baird Venture Partners and Baird Capital Partners Europe under the new umbrella name. However, the firm will continue to operate four distinct funds, covering US private equity, UK private equity, China growth equity and venture capital, respectively.
"Rebranding to Baird Capital allows us to articulate our strengths and simplify our message," said Gordon Pan, the firm's managing partner, in a statement. "Our new brand builds on our incredibly strong foundation and conveys to our investors and to the market that we are a global, integrated, experienced team focused on driving great outcomes."
In 2012, Baird Capital deployed more than $140 million in 33 new or follow-on investments and realized nearly $130 million, principally through three exits.
Recent Asia deals include Singapore plastic injection molding company Boston Plastics and Chinese truck maker Henan Bingxiong Refrigerated Truck, also known as Ice Bar.
