CBC joins Series C round for Pluribus Networks
China Broadband Capital (CBC) has contributed to a Series C round of funding for Pluribus Networks. The capital will be used to help the network virtualization equipment maker to bring its technologies to the Chinese market.
The Palo Alto start-up already received $23 million in Series C commitments from previous investors including Menlo Ventures, New Enterprise Associates and Mohr Davidow Ventures. The CBC injection brings the total amount raised from various investors to more than $44 million.
"The funding will be used to meet customer demand for deploying the company's production-ready software-defined virtualized fabric offering in China," it said in a statement.
"As the first Chinese VC that specializes in cloud computing industries, CBC Capital has fostered strong relationships with government and businesses," said Edward Tian, chairman of CBC, adding that Chinese companies on hyper-growth trajectories have an immense appetite for cloud computing and data-driven analytics.
