OTPP funds director named ILPA chair
Tanya Carmichael, director of global funds and private capital for the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan (OTPP), has been appointed to chair the board of directors for the Institutional Limited Partners Association (ILPA).
The appointment is effective November 3, according to a release from ILPA. Carmichael has been a member of ILPA's board since 2007, and sits on the private equity steering committee of the Principles of Responsible Investment.
Carmichael joined OTPP in 2006; previously, she had served as executive director in the private equity funds group of CIBC World Markets.
"It's a privilege to serve with this dedicated group of professionals as ILPA looks to strengthen its research and educational offerings and continues to expand its global reach," Carmichael said. "We are at a pivotal juncture in the development of our industry, and ILPA is well positioned to provide leadership in efforts to strengthen the asset class."
ILPA is a global organization representing more than 330 institutions that aims to advance the interests of LPs through education programs, research, networking and collaboration opportunities, and best practices.
