
Japan’s Relux raises $3.1m from Recruit Holdings, others
Japanese luxury hotel booking site Relux has raised JPY330 million ($3.1 million) from Recruit Holdings and other undisclosed investors.
Operated by Loco partners, Relux lists luxury Japanese inns and hotels selected by the company based on their on-site assessments. Since its launch last year, Relux attracted over 70,000 users, with most people in their 30s to 40s. Monthly revenue has grown at a pace of 30%, with average sales per customer reaching JPY90, 000.
The new funding will be used for hiring and boosting its customer base, with an emphasis on Southeast Asia , according to TechCrunch. The company is also developing a new hotel booking site to meet foreign tourists' needs in Japan. The site allows users to find suitable accommodations, complete online booking in ten languages and pay fees in twelve different currencies.
Recruits is a classified advertisement company and lists on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
