Nature Elements targets $400m for PRC cleantech
In yet another sign-of-the-times development, Nature Elements Capital, a Chinese investment firm founded by KK Chan, has announced that it will raise up to $400 million in a new China clean energy private equity fund.
Chan was a former managing director at CLP Renewables, whose responsibilities included overseeing that high-profile firm’s clean energy division in Asia Pacific. Chan envisions mixed RMB and USD components, with nearly half of the RMB portion reportedly pre-committed via an MOU signed by the Hangzhou government. Other investors are being approached in China and the US. Companies focused on clean energy, energy efficiency and environmental protection are the prime investment targets.
