Japan’s Fuller gets $1.2m seed round
Japanese internet service provider ASAHI Net and m8 Capital, a London-based VC firm, are leading a JPY100 million ($1.2 million) round of seed funding for Japan-based start-up Fuller Inc.
Founded in November 2011, Fuller is a next-generation mobile software development company.
It focuses heavily on phone optimization technology and will launch its first android application outside of Japan in early 2013. The app, which has already launched in Japan, allows the user to monitor and improve the "health" of their phone using an avatar-based user interface.
The company plans to use this new funding to invest in software development and to continue its work rethinking ways to deal with mobile utilities.
"The team at Fuller is working to make apps that enhance the smartphone experience. We're excited to be part of their exciting efforts," said Joseph Kim, general partner at m8 Capital.
