Helion backs India IT mobility solutions provider
Helion Venture Partners has committed a INR250 million ($4.2 million) Series A round of funding to India-based RapidValue IT Services, which specializes in mobile IT solutions.
Set up in 2009, RapidValue provides a range of mobile enterprise software and mobile system support for businesses with off-site operations.
Its flagship product is eQuipMe, a mobile and tablet application - available across Android, iOS, BlackBerry and Windows platforms - which uses GPS tracking, cloud services, scheduling and notification functions to help businesses coordinate field technicians and connect with customers.
The company was co-founded by Rajesh Padinjaremadam, along with Sirish Kosaraju - his former colleague from Infosys Technology where he was a consultant - and Rinish K Nalini, a former software architect at Wipro.
RapidValue has offices in India and California. It claims to have over 200 mobility consulting experts and experience delivering over 350 projects.
As part of the deal, Rahul Chandra, managing director at Helion will join the board of directors and Rodney Rogers, chairman and CEO of management software firm Virtustream, will join as an independent director.
"This funding will help us accelerate our growth and further establish ourselves as one of the leading firms offering end-to-end mobility solutions" said Padinjaremadam in a statement."
Helion has over $600 million in assets under management and focuses on companies in the technology and consumer space. It is currently investing its third fund, a $255 million vehicle launched in the middle of 2011.
