Partners Group opens Mumbai office
Partners Group has opened its first India office in Mumbai, taking its total number of locations in Asia to six and 17 globally.
Cyrus Driver, who joined Partners Group in 2012 as a managing director in order to strengthen the firm's direct investment capabilities in India, will head the office and continue to build out activities on the ground.
The private markets investor has deployed capital in the country across private equity, real estate and infrastructure, making its first direct investment in 2006. It completed two PE deals in 2013, acquiring a majority stake in technology support services provider CSS Corp. and investing in a chain of schools.
"For the past two years, we've been somewhat contrarian in remaining bullish on India. Valuations have largely come down from the high levels of a few years back and we believe it is a great time to invest in private markets here," Driver said in a statement.
He added that Partners Group has a full pipeline and is actively pursuing investments in the country.
Partners Group's other regional offices are in Singapore, Shanghai, Seoul, Tokyo and Sydney.
