
Telopea launches from Oz for regional PE, real estate, advisory
Telopea Capital Partners has opened in Sydney, Beijing and Hong Kong, seeking to make direct private equity and real estate investments with a new fund, as well as offering advisory services across the region.
According to Telopea, the firm is seeking to launch its debut fund, the Telopea Asia Opportunities Fund, seeking A$200 million ($175 million), to invest mid-market businesses in the region, including Australia, that seek to tap the Asian consumer growth story. The firm will also launch a larger real estate fund targeting Asian and Australasian assets. As an advisory business, the firm is currently working with Australian large real estate groups. Its advisory capabilities include M&A, IPOs, debt structuring and corporate restructuring. Craig Carracher, MD and founding principal, was formerly CEO and Managing Partner of Arctic Capital, the personal fund set up by Australian magnate James Packer.
