MVision hires two managing directors in Hong Kong
Placement agent MVision has hired Michelle Paisley and Dennis Kwan as managing directors in its Hong Kong office. They will join founder and CEO, Mounir Guen, who recently moved to Hong Kong to lead the firm's Asia expansion.
AVCJ understands that the appointments coincide with the departure of MVision's Hong Kong-based partner Niklas Amundsson.
Paisley - who has spent 18 years in Asia - previously worked at Macquarie Bank where most recently she served as division director. She has held senior roles at Bankers Trust, and Citigroup in Sydney and at HSBC in London. Paisley will lead MVision's sales in Asia and globally.
Kwan is a former principal at Sumitomo Mitsui Trust in Hong Kong where he oversaw investments in its global program across private equity, credit and infrastructure investments. Prior to that he worked at KPMG and Sony. He will be responsible for global origination at MVision, as well as developing relationships with investors in the Asia-Pacific region.
"We strongly believe in the future of the Asian region, where in our view the scale of opportunities related to private equity and associated investment strategies are going to accelerate dramatically," said Guen in a statement. "We are making a long-term commitment by bringing skilled knowledge and expertise into the local market."
The appointments take the number MVision professionals based in the region to 12. Set up in 2001, the company helps raise capital across private equity, real estate, real assets, credit and direct transactions in both the developed and emerging markets. It has offices in Hong Kong, London, New York, San Francisco and Sydney and a team of over 50 professionals.
