
Nalanda Capital invests in India’s Info Edge
Nalanda Capital has invested more than INR268 million ($3.9 million) in listed online classifieds company Info Edge India. The PE firm bought 1.7 million shares on the secondary market for around INR300 apiece.
Info Edge operates in four verticals - recruitment through Naukri.com, match-making with Jeevansathi.com, 99acres.com for real estate and education through Shiksha.com. It has offices in 32 cities throughout India and a presence in the Middle East as well.
The company also has stakes in Meritnation.com, Policybazaar, Zomato Media and Mydala.com, and last year acquired recruitment agency Toostep Consultancy from Accel Partners India.
Info Edge India posted a net income of INR915.94 million for the most recent financial year, with revenues of INR5.19 billion.
