Monument joins forces with secondaries advisor Mozaic

Placement agent Monument Group has merged with Mozaic Capital Advisors, a US-based boutique advisory firm focused on secondary transactions, following an eight-year strategic partnership.
The combined entity will have 50 people in Boston, London, Amsterdam, Hong Kong, and Tokyo dedicated to advising clients on capital formation and liquidity solutions, including primary fundraisings, LP and GP-led secondaries, co-investments, and other bespoke capital offerings.
Monument was founded in 1994 and has supported fundraising activity amounting to USD 131bn across 205 funds and transactions. The firm established an Asia presence in 2014, opening offices in Hong Kong and then Tokyo. Its website lists two Asia-based partners, Niklas Amundsson and Albert Jun.
Mozaic was established in 2015 by Solomon Owayda and Christine Patrinos, formerly of Siguler Guff and HarbourVest Partners, respectively.
“Blending Mozaic’s expertise in LP secondaries and GP-led transactions with Monument Group’s private placement capabilities allows us to be a comprehensive capital solutions partner to our clients,” said Mike Miller, managing partner of Monument, in a statement.
“Following our eight-year strategic partnership, the unification has proven to be seamless, with the firm well positioned to continue offering customised solutions to meet clients’ capital needs, strategic objectives and long-term goals.”
