Taiwan video SaaS start-up raises $16m Series B

Kdan Mobile Software, a Taiwanese software-as-a-service company focused on corporate video and design services, has raised a $16 million Series B round featuring WI Harper Group.
Korea’s Dattoz Partners led the round, which also included participation from Taiwan’s Taiwania Capital and Japan’s Mitsubishi UFJ Capital. It follows a $5 million Series A in 2018 featuring Wi Harper, Japan’s Accord Ventures, and Taiwans’ Darwin Venture Management.
Kdan designs and provides cloud-based productivity and content creation services for desktop, web and mobile environments. Its product suite includes tools for video creation and editing, PDF editing, animation creation, and a cloud-based electronic signature service, among other functions.
The multi-platform portfolio has received more than 200 downloads to date. Kdan handles about 1.2 billion documents a year and said it expects to increase that number “dramatically” over the next five years.
“We see tremendous growth in the market for software and solutions that empower the post-pandemic hybrid workforce. Kdan’s powerful product suite and the leadership team’s ability to execute have led to its strong momentum in several key markets, including the US and Asia markets,” Yeon Su Kim, CEO of Dattoz, said in a statement.
“We believe this performance is indicative of the company’s future direction and we are thrilled to be a part of that.
