Shunwei leads $100m round for China’s Kujiale
Shunwei Capital has led a $100 million Series D round of funding for Kujiale, a Chinese home design and decoration site, with participation from Temasek Holdings-owned Pavilion Capital.
Existing investors IDG Capital, GGV Capital, Yunqi Capital, Hearst Ventures, and Linear Venture also took part, according to a statement. The company now has a post-money valuation of $600 million.
Launched in 2013, Kujiale allows users to design homes using virtual reality and cloud computing technologies. It is popular with interior designers who use the platform to share home design plans with clients and receive feedback. Kujiale works with 12,000 interior design companies, including Boluoni and Markor Home.
IDG provided Series A funding in 2013 and then GGV led both a $10 million Series B round in 2014 and a Series C round worth tens of millions of dollars in 2016. Previous backers also include Matrix China Partners.
Kujiale generated RMB300 million ($47 million) in revenue last year. It has more than three million home designers and 10 million customers on its platform who exchange about 200,000 interior furnishing plans every day. Following the latest funding, the company plans to expand its business in overseas, as well as improve its cloud computing and big data capabilities.
