Shaw Kwei makes appointments in Hong Kong, New York
Shaw Kwei & Partners has appointed Peter Ko as managing director in the firm’s Hong Kong office and David Hudson as senior advisor in New York.
The nominations, effective immediately, are expected to bolster the firm's presence in Asia while providing on-the-ground representation with the US private equity funds community.
"Peter and David are exceptionally well-proven private equity professionals, bringing deep industry experience to Shaw Kwei as we seek to capitalize on our large pipeline of buyout opportunities in the mid-market space," Kyle Shaw, Shaw Kwei founder and managing director, said in a statement.
Ko (pictured) has more than 25 years of PE experience with a focus on Asia Pacific, including executing cross-border investments at Asian Oceanic Group, and serving in senior roles at H&Q Asia Pacific and William E. Simon & Sons, a fund manager founded by former US Treasury Secretary Bill Simon. Hudson joins from Darby Private Equity, where he spent eight years overseeing strategic and operational aspects of the firm's platforms in Asia. Before that, he worked for J.P. Morgan and Salomon Brothers.
Shaw Kwei invests in middle-market companies with operations in Asia, chiefly in the industrial, manufacturing and services sectors. The firm was established in 1999 and has offices in Hong Kong and Singapore.
