Actis adds to Southeast Asia team
Actis has expanded its Southeast Asia team by appointing Ivy Santoso as Indonesian country head and Arjun Oberoi as global healthcare sector head.
Santoso spent over 10 years as Indonesian country head for Avenue Capital, a New York-based investor, before joining Actis.
"With economic growth running around 6%, we are optimistic about the prospects opening up in Indonesia," said Meng Ann Lim, Actis' head of China and Southeast Asia. "Ivy brings to Actis her long experience of deal-doing in the region, along with her impressive network of contacts."
Arjun Oberoi, who is a trained physician, was formally head of international strategy and business development at Stryker Corporation.
"Healthcare is undergoing a dramatic shift in emerging economies across the globe with rapid infrastructure development coupled with an expanding middle class seeking access to higher quality products and services," said Oberoi.
Actis's current healthcare investments include hospital chain Sterling Add-Life, clinical research organisation Veeda, healthcare IT provider Anthelio and Nanjing Micro-Tech, one of the larger players in China's endoscopy consumable sector.
