BlueRun leads $100m Series C for China's QingCloud
China-based cloud computing platform QingCloud has raised a $100 million Series C round led by existing investor BlueRun Ventures.
Along with BlueRun, two unnamed RMB funds also participated in the round. QingCloud will use the new capital for R&D and to build new cloud infrastructure, according to a release. The company will also improve its software offerings.
QingCloud launched its service in 2013 to provide on-demand real-time cloud computing services to enterprise customers. It claims to serve more than 45,000 clients in both traditional and emerging industries.
BlueRun previously committed $2 million to QingCloud's 2012 Series A round, and participated in its $20 million Series B round, led by Lightspeed China, in 2014. The firm targets early-stage investments in start-ups in the mobile software, services and fintech sectors; it closed its third China VC fund last April at $200 million.
