Advent adds to China operating partner program
Advent International has appointed healthcare industry veteran Lincoln Chee to its operating partner program in China. He will advise the private equity firm in identifying investment opportunities in the space and in generating value in portfolio companies.
Chee, an experienced surgeon, has more than two decades of industry experience and is currently a life science venture partner at Vertex Venture Holdings, a subsidiary of Temasek Holdings.
Prior to this, he was CEO of Hong Kong-listed Quality Healthcare Asia between 2003 and 2012, overseeing the restructuring of the group and its subsequent sale to Fortis Healthcare in 2011. He also held board positions at Arana Therapeutics and Singapore-listed Biosensors International.
"We are very pleased to have Dr. Chee joining the firm's operating partner program," said Filippo de Vecchi, managing director and co-head of Greater China with Advent, in a statement. "Advent is an active investor in the global healthcare sector, which is also a core area of focus for Advent in China.
Advent has invested in over 30 healthcare companies globally. Recent investments include Mediq, a business delivering pharmaceuticals, medical devices and related care services; Connolly, a technology-enabled provider of recovery audit services; and CARE Hospitals, a multi-speciality hospital chain in India.
