Korea Teachers Pension Fund CIO to step down
Yun Kyu Lee is to step down as chief investment officer of Korea Teachers Pension Fund (KTPF). His replacement has yet to be announced.
Lee has been active in fixed income, equity and alternative investment management for 30 years. Prior to joining KTPF in 2008, he was executive vice president at Dongbu Asset Management and then CEO at Mega Midas Asset Management. This came after a 24-year stint at Korea Investment Management.
Lee will leave KTPF in about two months time. His future plans are not yet confirmed.
Earlier this year, the pension fund said it would make two commitments of $30 million to funds run by Hamilton Lane and Paul Capital, respectively. KTPF wants to increase its global exposure to 15% of its overall private equity portfolio by 2018.
