
FLAG Squadron’s Pierce named chair of EMPEA Asia council
The Emerging Markets Private Equity Association (EMPEA) has appointed David Pierce, a partner at FLAG Squadron Asia, as chair of its Asia advisory council.
Pierce, who is also non-executive chairman of the Hong Kong Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (HKVCA), has more than 17 years experience as a PE investor in the region. As chair of the Asia council, he will lead a group of industry participants that supports EMPEA's regional programming.
Council members include GPs Baring Private Equity Asia, Hony Capital, IL&FS Investment Managers, AIF Capital, Lombard Investment and Clearwater Capital Partners, as well as executives from Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, Asia Alternatives, Pantheon, Adams Street Partner and Quilvest.
FLAG Squadron Asia was formed last year through the merger of US fund-of-funds FLAG Capital and Asia-focused investor Squadron Capital, which was previously controlled by the family office of Robert W. Miller.
