Wilson Sonsini opens Beijing office
Venture capital-focused law firm Wilson Sonsini has opened an office in Beijing, enlarging a Greater China footprint that already takes in Shanghai and Hong Kong. The office is led by Kefei Li, a partner with the firm. He reports to Weiheng Chen, the China practice leader.
Wilson Sonsini focuses primarily on the technology and life sciences sectors. The Beijing team offers broad experience in M&A, private equity and capital markets, as well as intellectual property and licensing expertise.
"Besides being the regulatory center in China, Beijing is a hub for technology companies and growth enterprises as well as capital markets, private equity, venture capital and cross-border M&A activities," Jack Sheridan, Wilson Sonsini's co-managing partner, said in a statement. "That confluence makes it a natural fit for the firm and critical to serving the diverse needs of our clients in the region."
Wilson Sonsini opened its Shanghai office in 2007 and established a presence in Hong Kong three years later. The firm recently added a Hong Kong law capability to its China offering, hiring Khoon Jin Tan to work with local affiliate Chen & Associates.
