
Franklin Templeton PE fund invests in India’s SFO Technologies
Franklin Templeton Private Equity Strategy (FTPES) has invested IND67.5 crore ($14.9 million) in SFO Technologies, a leading Indian electronics manufacturer. FTPES is one of three private equity investors that have committed a combined IND166.5 crore to the Kochi-based company. The funds will allow an existing investor to exit, with the balance to be used as growth capital.
Kochi-based SFO Technologies, part of the NeST of companies, produces software and hardware products and services used in healthcare, communications and other industries. It has a worldwide presence and a staff of 4,000. The company is one of five key strategic sourcing partners for a leading global health original equipment manufacturer.
FTPES is a private equity fund management by Franklin Templeton Asset Management (India) that targets high net worth individuals in India. It was advised on the deal by the Asia affiliate of Darby Overseas Investments, the private equity arm of Franklin Templeton Investments.
