
IFC considers $20m investing in Tsing Capital
International Finance Corporation (IFC), the investment arm of The World Bank, has proposed a $20 million add-on investment in Tsing Capital, which claims to be the first cleantech-focused venture capital firm in China.
If IFC decides to make the injection, the capital will be user to bolster Tsing’s Capital’s s fourth fund, the China Environmental Fund IV L.P. The vehicle is a 10-year private equity fund that has set a $350 million target, used for investments in the environmental sustainability and resource efficiency sectors. The fund’s predecessor was launched in 2008 and manages $250 million. The first China Environmental fund in the series launched in 2002 and has been managed by Tsing Capital since that time.
