Mekong Capital makes fourth exit from Enterprise Fund
Vietnam-focused Private Equity firm Mekong Capital has exited its stake in Minh Phuc Printing and Packaging Company to an unnamed domestic investor.
The exit is Mekong's fourth, coming from its $18.5 million Mekong Enterprise Fund. It first invested in Minh Phuc in November 2004 and made later capital injections in September 2005 and October 2005. According to the PE firm, the company's net profit has consistently risen since Mekong made its first investment. As at December 2010, Minh Phuc saw approximately $10 million in revenues and US$1 million in net profit. Minh Phuc is a producer of printing paper-based packaging, aluminum foil, labels and envelopes. Its products are predominantly used by the beer and tobacco industries. Its customers are largely domestic, although it exports some products to countries in Asia and the Middle East.
The Mekong Enterprise Fund was launched in 2002 and has invested in 10 private companies managed by Vietnamese entrepreneurs. The final investment of Mekong Enterprise Fund was made in 2005, and it is currently in its divestment phase.
